Been lurking arournd here for a while, enjoying everyone's reports, pics and videos. Happened upon a Gorge Rat with a big axe the other day around Old Conley. Really enjoyed meeting Ken and he was nice enough to turn the water on for us, heh. (a little light drizzle didn't not ruin our trip, maybe even enhanced the view in its own way).
I'm from Morganton originally, so I grew up with the Gorge, went to ASU and now in Durham it still calls me back. Having been familiar with almost all of the trails, I have developed an interest in whats off the path and not on the map which pretty much led me here. Ken took note of what we were interested in and quickly sent detailed instructions on how to locate and explore a certain off-the-path scramble. Big thanks Ken, and enjoyed your video too.
Hope to meet many of yall in the future on the trail or at the Rockhouse. In the meantime keep making thise videos, really helps watching those when stuck down here in the flat lands.
I'll leave with an old gorge photo from 1985. Most of you will know where this is...

Regards!
