Just getting settled in here, made my first foray into the lesser-travelled parts of the gorge yesterday. Did the Wolf Pit / Shortoff MST up just far enough to peek into the southernmost part of the gorge then got spooked by a stormy looking cloud.

I've been poring over the info and Google Earth Linville Master .kmz found on these forums in preparation for further exploring -- and MANY thanks are in order to all of the people who've contributed to the wealth of trail data in the gorge. Thank you!!!

After hiking WNC as a visitor for 5 years, I made the move & have been living in Asheville for past year and a half. .... Hiking nearly every week since and still feel I've barely scratched the surface.
